Montrose, COLO.–At approximately 3:45 p.m. on Friday, November 11th, a Montrose County Sheriff’s Deputy was injured in an officer-involved shooting in the west end of Montrose County. The deputy is being treated at St. Mary’s Hospital for non-life threatening injuries and is in stable condition. At this time, the incident is under investigation and further details will be released when they become available.
UPDATE 12:02 AM 11/12/2016 The suspect in the officer-involved shooting died at the scene. The deputy involved will undergo surgery the morning of the 12th to remove bullet fragments from his hand. At this time, the incident is being investigated by the Montrose County Sheriff’s Office, Colorado Bureau of Investigation, and the Seventh Judicial District’s Critical Incident Team. The Montrose County Sheriff’s Office will release more information as it becomes available.
